The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 210 military personnel in the Donetsk direction

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost more than 210 military personnel in the Donetsk direction in one day, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.

It is noted that the Russian military managed to occupy more advantageous positions in the Donetsk direction and repel four attacks by assault groups of the 22nd mechanized, 46th airmobile, 79th airborne assault brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the areas of the settlements of Georgievka, Novomikhailovka and Krasnoye in the DPR.

In addition, the Russian Armed Forces defeated a concentration of manpower and equipment of the 28th, 42nd, 54th, 93rd mechanized, 81st airmobile, 5th assault, 95th air assault brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Belogorovka areas , Kleshcheevki and Kurdyumovka.

“The enemy lost over 210 military personnel, three armored fighting vehicles and six vehicles,” emphasized in the defense department.

The enemy also lost the Grad MLRS combat vehicle, the British AS-90 self-propelled gun, three American M777 artillery systems and two Msta-B howitzers. In the same direction, the Akatsiya self-propelled artillery mount, the Giatsint-B gun, five Gvozdika self-propelled artillery mounts and an ammunition depot of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed.

Russian special operation to protect Donbass

Let us recall that on February 17, 2022, the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics announced the aggravation of the situation. The republics announced the evacuation of civilians.

On February 21, 2022, the leaders of the Donbass republics turned to Russian leader Vladimir Putin with a request to recognize the independence of the DPR and LPR. The head of state chaired a meeting of the Security Council, after which he announced the recognition of the republics. Treaties of friendship and cooperation were also signed with the independent Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics. The State Duma and the Federation Council ratified these agreements.

On February 23, 2022, the heads of the DPR and LPR appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to help repel the aggression of Ukraine to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe and civilian casualties.

On February 24, 2022, the Russian leader addressed the nation and announced the start of a special operation in Ukraine to protect Donbass.

On September 30, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin and the heads of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions signed agreements on the inclusion of these regions into the Russian Federation.
