Finnish scientists conducted an unusual study – they figured out whether it is true that screaming becomes quieter if you shout against the wind.
According to Scientific Reports, it was found that the strength of the wind does not affect the intensity of our screams. It turns out that the effects of turbulence create an area of lower pressure around the ears, which makes a person seem to scream more quietly.
Interestingly, to test their theories, experts rode a van along the airport runway with speakers and microphones on the roof.
What else can the power of the wind do? Why could the Great Sphinx be created by the wind? How does a high-speed kite boat work? And why are Moscow engineers creating a giant flying saucer? Details about this and much more are in the “Science and Technology” program with host Mikhail Borzenkov. The scientific blockbuster will be released on Sunday, February 18, at 10:30 on REN TV.
