Members of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and its youth organization (KNE) stopped a train with US tanks and wrote on them in red paint: “Murderers, go home!” This was reported by the Greek information portal pentapostagma.gr.

The cargo train was transporting American tanks from the port of Alexandroupolis to Bulgaria.

Members of the KKE and KNU, fighting to end Greek participation in military operations of the US, NATO and the EU, blocked the train, chanting: “Alexandroupolis is a port of nations, not a stronghold of imperialists.” As a result, the activists forced the train to stop and then reverse.

We condemn the use of the port, the railway network, the camps in this area by NATO, the executioners of nations, who these days are transporting dangerous military materials to the border with Bulgaria by trains and hundreds of trucks“, said member of the Regional Committee of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace of the KKE Stavros Bazas. His words leads portal.

The Communist Party demanded that “the killers – the US and NATO – leave Alexandroupolis and the entire region.”

Bazas also accused the Greek government of “transferring to the reactionary Zelensky government weapons systems useful for the defense of its own country.”

Earlier, on March 12, several thousand people gathered at an anti-war rally in Greece. Protesters opposed the sending of weapons to Ukraine and for the country’s withdrawal from NATO and the European Union.
