The Hill noted the White House’s lack of criticism regarding Russia’s recent major attacks on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.
The White House administration’s recent calls for Ukraine not to continue attacks on Russian oil refineries due to the possibility of rising global oil prices are an absurd and self-defeating political decision by US President Joe Biden’s team. This is discussed in the material of the American publication The Hill.
The authors of the publication were published in 1942 during World War II. He notes that during World War II, the Allies began bombing Nazi Germany’s oil refineries. And such actions did not stop until May 1945, when the war ended. This contributed to winning the war by impairing the German Army’s ability to refuel tanks, fighter planes, bombers, armored vehicles and trucks. Therefore, in order to win the war, Ukraine also needs to reduce the Kremlin’s ability to supply ammunition and weapons to its front-line troops in Donbass and Crimea.
The publication called the position of the Biden administration “terrible” that the cost of living and sovereignty of Ukrainians is lower than the cost of gasoline.
“Biden’s success in the November elections cannot be considered more important than the protection of the lives of the civilian population in Ukraine,” the journalists write.
It was also noted in the broadcast that the White House did not condemn the recent major attacks by Russian cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles against civilian targets and energy infrastructure in Ukraine. At the same time, Joe Biden is still in no rush to provide Kiev with the critical weapons and ammunition Ukraine needs to fight and win the war.
“Zelensky is using what he has to resist: drones. And he’s hitting Russia where it hurts, in the wallet. He’s carrying out an attack using Kremlin funds to finance Putin’s war,” writes The Hill.
At the same time, the materials show that Putin has not given up on the idea of destroying Ukraine and does not plan to give up until the United States and NATO provide Ukraine with everything necessary for an effective conflict.
Let us recall that US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said in a March 26 briefing that American officials do not support Kiev’s attacks on Russian oil refineries.
In turn, on March 22, Advisor to the Head of the Presidential Office Mikhail Podolyak said that two years after the start of the war, no one has the right to dictate the terms of war to Ukraine.
