The American financial conglomerate Morgan Stanley will lay off 5% of its employees, that is, about three thousand people. About it writes The Financial Times, citing its sources.

It is specified that the reductions will take place until the end of June 2023, and most of all they will affect employees of the investment banking division and the securities department.

Recall that in the spring, another banking crisis hit the United States. It started with the bankruptcy of Silicon Valley Bank, which became known on April 11. The New York Times called it the biggest bankruptcy since the 2008 financial crisis. The collapse of several other financial institutions followed.

After the collapse of the SVB, Americans began withdrawing money en masse. So far, they have cashed out about $100 billion.

Previously REN TV explained whether the banking crisis in the United States is dangerous for Russia. It was also reported what the bankruptcy of Silicon Bank would mean for the United States itself.

Meanwhile, experts note that the crisis did not affect Russia, since Russian banks turned out to be much more reliable than Western ones.
