The 2022 midterm elections further demonstrated that Hispanics are a key voting bloc.

In 2022, both political parties were warned.

Except Florida, Republicans failed to win a large share of the Hispanic vote..

Nonetheless, Democrats have seen more and more Hispanics leave their party and vote Republican, some for the first time.

In a way, this was good for Hispanics, because it meant that Hispanic vote is not guaranteed. It also means that both political parties will need to continue to invest in Hispanic outreach, even in states like Ohio and Georgia, which are seeing significant Hispanic growth.

To stay competitive, Republicans will need to build on what they’ve done to Hispanic voters, especially young Hispanics who seem to prefer Democrats in 2022.

Democrats have the opposite problem: polling results show they have had trouble supporting older Hispanics, especially men.

It’s clear that most Hispanics are more interested in results which political party is in power.

Population polls show that most Hispanics are more concerned about jobs, the economy, and lower inflation.

Latin Americans are also concerned about improving our healthcare system, our education system and immigration solutions to protect our US-Mexico border and to give people the opportunity to live and earn honest work in the United States.

This new Congress has the opportunity to drop partisanship and work on issues that both parties and broad sections of the American people agree on.

For example, recent polls show that a majority of Americans, including many Republicans, support Dreamer’s decision.

In health care, polls show that more than 6 in 10 Americans (62%) support a health care plan that allows people to choose affordable options that are right for them without adding new taxes.

Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, policy makers should give patients more choice and control over their health care, or what is known as a personal choice plan.

When it comes to education, most Americans maintain Education Savings Accounts (ESAs), which allow families to customize their child’s education plan using their tax dollars. ESA ensures that more and more families have the opportunity to get the education they deserve, regardless of income or zip code.

As the election year showed, Latin Americans are ready to vote for any candidate and any political party which offers the best ideas to solve the most pressing problems.

An important factor to consider given that a third of all Hispanic voters are between the ages of 18 and 29, there is a lot of work to be done to reach this growing group. In practice, this requires that both parties have to invest more to reach our community, and our Hispanic community will have to voice our interests to politicians.

And when the new Congress strikes back, there will be a total of five new Hispanic Republicans in the House of Representatives who should listen to our community.

As a non-partisan organization willing to work with both political parties, the LIBRE Initiative will continue to build an army of volunteers and activists to remove the barriers that prevent Latin Americans from living their version of the American Dream.
