Ukraine’s Ambassador to Bulgaria accused of speaking in “robes”: it turned out to be a designer dress (photo)

Olesya Ilashchuk, who recorded the official address, appeared before the camera with her clothes resembling a silk dressing gown. Later, information appeared in the media that the diplomat wore a dress from Lviv designer Yulia Magdych, which cost 79.6 thousand UAH.

Olesya Ilashchuk, the Ukrainian Ambassador to Bulgaria, infuriated the Ukrainians by recording an official appeal with clothes resembling a dressing gown. This was announced by “European Truth” editor Sergei Sidorenko on his Facebook page.

The journalist pointed out that the Ukrainian diplomat was wearing clothes resembling a bathrobe while recording the official video.

“The ambassador’s formal appeal in a dressing gown exceeds, I admit, the wildest expectations. Even though the ambassador is not an ambassador, he has passed away,” she wrote.

However, not all social media users support Sidorenko, according to him. People speculated that the clothes of Olesya Ilashchuk could be a designer dress, made in an unusual style.

Also note that the video posted on the Ukrainian Embassy page in Bulgaria is no longer available. Removed. Now in this place there is a video of Olesya Ilashchuk, who has already recorded the appeal in a blue jacket, and a video of the same outfits that pissed off Ukrainians.

As of now, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Embassy in Bulgaria have not commented on the situation with Olesya Ilashchuk.

A unique combination of traditions: what dress did Olesya Ilashchuk wear?

After some time, information appeared in the media that the unusual dress of Olesya Ilashchuk, in which the diplomat was criticized by journalists and users of social networks, was a designer thing. Its creator is the Lviv designer Yulia Magdych.

A model similar to the dress of Olesya Ilashchuk costs the designer 79.6 thousand hryvnia.

In the designer’s online store, the dress is presented as a unique combination of tradition and modernity. The model is embroidered on Ukrainian clothes, inspired by authentic motifs. The dress is made of 100% batiste fabric.

Also in the description of the dress it is stated that this is a special dress made individually for each client. It takes 72 hours to work on such a model.

We previously reported that on December 26, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reacted to the appointment of Ukrainian ambassador to Bulgaria. The newly appointed diplomat Olesya Ilashchuk introduced himself as a specialist in jewelry and monetary magnetism. The ministry assures that it is common international practice to appoint inexperienced persons to the highest diplomatic posts.

Recall that on December 23, 2022, President Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Olesya Ilashchuk as the Ukrainian Ambassador to Bulgaria. The newly appointed diplomat immediately attended the general meeting of the Ukrainian ambassadors. Prior to that, the woman introduced herself as a “sexology and jewelery expert”.
