Ferrari chooses replacement Mattia Binotto who resigned at the end of November. Thus, the new team leader and general manager of the Prancing Horse in Formula 1 will be Frederic Wasser. Wasser will officially start working at Ferrari on January 9, 2023.
The announcement was made shortly after the news that the French official farewell to Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN where he served as team leader. In addition, Vasser was also the CEO of Sauber Motorsport.
As I prepare to end my adventure with the Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN, I fondly remember those six years of working together. I am indebted to every member of the team as they are the ones who put this team on its feet. I’m proud of the work we’ve done together as a team and company, and even more proud of the solid foundation we’ve laid for what’s to come: but most of all, I’m proud of the people who made it all possible, who made friends over time. You always feel at home in this team and I will cheer for them wherever I go. I have learned so much during my time as CEO and Team Leader and I feel like every day has been preparing me for what is to come.
Shortly after this announcement, the new role at Ferrari was formalized. That Maranello chose Frederic Wasser it’s not surprising at all. In fact, when rumors of a farewell to Binotto began to spread, there was already talk of French as a possible replacement. Appreciated by Leclerc, the Frenchman has an excellent relationship with Carlos Tavares.

For the French it’s a big challenge. In fact, he will have to return Ferrari to the top of Formula 1. A difficult job that will begin on January 9th.
