“There will be conflicts”: Beleniuk told how the meeting with the Ukrainians at the Olympics will turn out to the Russians

While the famous wrestler drew attention to the cowardly silence of the Russian athletes, their country caused great sadness to Ukraine.

Olympic wrestling champion and people’s deputy Zhan Beleniuk spoke about the admission of Russians and Belarusians to the 2024 Olympics. According to his opinion, which he shared in an interview with Kamp-sport, the meeting of athletes from Russia and Ukraine will not lead to anything good.

“I believe the IOC should make a reasonable decision. If the Russians come to Paris, there will be no sports holidays. There will be constant provocations and fights. It will definitely not end well. This country has done a great favor. Beleniuk said, “There are too many problems for all Ukrainians and their athletes He remained cowardly silent.”

Under what conditions can Russians and Belarusians participate in the Olympics?

On March 28, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) returned Russians and Belarusians to international sports. The condition for their participation in the Olympics is compliance with a number of restrictions, including performance under a neutral flag. That’s right, teams are still not allowed to perform.

The IOC also noted that every athlete must comply with all anti-doping rules. Soldiers of the armies of the Russian Federation and Belarus are also not allowed to demonstrate. It is also forbidden to use equipment bearing the symbols of Russia and the Republic of Belarus in competitions, including in the stands. These countries are not allowed to compete.

Recall the head of the NOC and Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Vadim Gutzeit, after meeting with colleagues from other countries on March 27, the recommendation of the IOC Executive Board of February 28, 2022 Belarusian athletes participating in Russian and International sports competitions will remain in force.

On March 26, a protest rally of Ukrainian athletes was interrupted in China. Ukrainian fencers Vlada Kharkova and Daria Varfolomeeva wanted to protest Russian athletes at a competition in China, but the organizers blocked them, saying “it’s their job”.
