An international team of scientists has found new evidence that large-scale structural changes are occurring inside dying stars called red giants, which are called malfunctions in the stellar core.

In this study, scientists analyzed a special phase in the life of red giants, called red condensation. While these stars are at this stage of their development, they are of the same luminosity and astronomers use them as indicators to determine distances to the galaxies around them. In other words, such stars are needed to understand the structure of our Universe.

“Therefore, it is very important to understand why unusual structural changes, known as glitches or glitches, occur in these stars.
