APU drone knocked over a Russian T-72B3 tank near Maryinka, forcing the crew to flee (video)

As the army of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation said, they could not quickly evacuate due to the ignition of ammunition.

A kamikaze drone shot down a Russian army T-72B3 tank in the Maryinka area, despite established protection. The Russian edition of “Military Review” shared the details.

A video of the attack taken by one of the tankers was posted online. A T-72B3 with a protective grille, often referred to as a “barbecue”, was firing at Ukrainian positions when the full turret was hit. In the footage, you can see that the tank caught fire, after which the crew abandoned it and rushed to another combat vehicle to escape death.

“An interesting video from the Russians, or why even the damage to a Russian tank is very good. The invaders’ tank was probably hit by a small drone (e.g. FPV). The tank was damaged by an explosion and the tanker, Ukrainian blogger and volunteer Serhiy Sternenko, commented on the video.

According to “Military Review”, the commander of the later downed T-72B3 with the call sign “Dashing” gave an interview in which he explained the details of what happened. According to him, a Ukrainian kamikaze drone flew into the tower of the tank, and as a result of its explosion, machine gun shells began to explode, so the crew could not quickly leave the damaged combat vehicle. As soon as the ammunition ran out, the crew managed to get out and run to another tank nearby.

In March, a video was released showing how a kamikaze drone of the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed a T-72B3 tank near Avdiivka. An operator from the 59th separate motor infantry brigade was able to launch a drone directly into the open hatch cover.

A similar incident occurred a few weeks later in another part of the front. Ukrainian Pegasus kamikaze drone blew up a Russian tank from the inside. First, the UAV hit a machine gun and jammed, but the operator was able to move it and throw it into the hatch cover.
