Apple will unveil new products and Mixed Reality headset: where to watch the presentation?

At 20:00 Kiev time, a conference for developers is expected, where Apple will show new gadgets and gadgets.

Today, Apple Park in Cupertino will host the annual WWDC conference for Apple product and app developers, where Apple CEO Tim Cook may introduce an MR headset (Mixed Reality). Around this secret project that Apple has been working on for several years, the attention of all fans of the company’s products is now focused.

Mixed Reality headset: why do you need it and what makes it special?

No one knows the exact name of the device yet, but it’s tentatively referred to as Reality Pro. Reporters learned that Apple has filed trademarks, including “Reality”, “Reality One”, “Reality Pro” and “Reality Processor”, which are the same as the realityOS name that appears in the Apple code.

Apple’s Mixed Reality headset is arguably one of the company’s most interesting products in recent years. While Apple has yet to confirm its existence, Apple employees and product experts say it will be a revolutionary headset that combines both virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), resulting in mixed reality (MR). The Reality Pro is expected to have multiple external sensors to support hand tracking, as well as sensors that track your eyes inside the headset.

As for the specifications, the headset is said to be equipped with an M2 chip with 16GB of RAM, two 1.41-inch Micro OLED displays each with a pixel density of 4000 ppi. Perhaps the screens will be able to offer more than 5,000 nits of brightness and users will be able to see the 4K resolution with all eyes.

The possibility of such a headset coming from Apple suggests that the company has created VR versions of some of its own apps, including Safari, FaceTime, Apple TV, Apple Books, Freeform, and others.

One of the intrigues is the price of the device. Some experts claim that the Reality Pro will cost up to $3,000, while others agree on something around $1,000 as it’s more affordable and competitive.

What else will Apple show at the conference?

Apple is also expected to launch a larger 15-inch MacBook Air that will replace the previous 13-inch variant. Most likely, the model will be equipped with last year’s M2 chip, and the screen itself may have the same resolution of 3024 x 1964 pixels as the 14-inch MacBook Pro.

Insiders say Apple is preparing to launch “several new Macs” alongside the MacBook Air, but it’s not clear yet exactly what those models are. According to rumors, the company is working on a 24-inch iMac that could ship with the new M3 chip.

For developers, of course, some updates will be presented at the conference for iOS, iPadOS, macOS and more. iOS 17 is said to have a Personal Voice tool that allows users to create an artificial voice after 15 minutes of training. Also coming to iOS 17 is a feature that turns the iPhone’s lock screen into a smart home-style display when tilted horizontally.

Little is known about what’s coming for macOS 14 and tvOS 17, but Apple has reportedly released a sizable update for watchOS 10 that adds a new interface with more widgets.

It will be clear in a few hours what exactly Apple will offer its users. You can watch the YouTube live presentation here.
