Former Trump Interim Boss Says 2024 Confirmation Was a Mistake

Mick Mulvaney Former Acting White House Chief of Staff Donald Trumphad a conversation with the TV channel, where He assured that it was a serious mistake for the Republican Party that the former president made his presidential candidacy official. because hopes of winning elections are impossible.

Trump announced his third candidacy in front of an audience that some experts said was “boring” and did so exactly one week after the midterm elections were held, where the so-called “red wave” never came, and also on that most of their candidates lost their races.

Speaking to CNN’s Anderson Cooper, Mick Mulvaney, the acting White House chief of staff, called the move to run a third bid for the US presidency a mistake both for Trump and Republicans who need a win.

The host asked Mulvaney, “Do you think this is good for the Republican Party?” while Trump was speaking.

“No. I’m not doing this because I think he’s the only Republican who can lose.”- the ex-counselor immediately spoke out.

To then continue: “Now he’s a candidate, probably the Republican candidate. Can he be beaten head to head with Ron DeSantis or Tim Scott? Of course, but it will not be a personal race. There will be five or six more people in the race,” he said.

Mulvaney also assured that Trump would have support in the Republican Party, which is a small percentage that accepts and embraces his ideals.

“He will get the 35% that really support him. and under the primary winner-take-all system, he will be the nominee.”

In his speech, he believes that voters will not look to the future president (if it comes to that) which of the two proposals is better, or who will reduce inflation, or pass laws in favor of abortion, it will be a competition to vote for him.

“That means the 2024 race is not about Joe Biden or any other Democrat on the list or inflation or world events or abortion. It will be about Donald Trump, the same thing we saw in 2020.”.

He concluded his analysis by opining that in the last election, people went to the polls to vote, but against Donald Trump.

“No one voted for Joe Biden. Everyone voted for or against Donald Trump. There was a referendum on it,” he concluded.

Former President Trump has already speculated about his desire to become the Republican nominee for president in 2024 and decided to make it official a week after the midterm elections, which did not turn out as favorable for the Republicans as expected.

“To make America great and glorious again, today I am announcing my candidacy for the presidency. United States,” he confirmed what many already feared by nominating his third nomination for a White House official.

Donald J. Trump’s documentation as the Republican candidate entered the Federal Election Commission shortly before he made his announcement from Mar-a-Lago in Florida.

The announcement comes amid serious legal challenges the former president has faced, including over the storage of classified documents such as Capitoline uprising January 6, 2021 and a trial led by New York Attorney Letitia James.
