The Security Council compared the oil ceiling with the burghers on the run in the hole

Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev commented on the situation with the establishment in the European Union of the price ceiling for Russian oil at $60 per barrel. Medvedev is sure that the West’s behavior is similar to “burghers on a spree” who decided to cool off in an ice hole.

“The actions of our” friends “remind me of a crowd of burgers who have been on a whim, who, having eaten schnapps with sausages and beer, climb into ice water for the first time. Like we want to cool off”– Medvedev wrote in his Telegram channel.

He noted that such a “bathing” could end in failure for many who decided to climb into the “hole”, and that such a result would cause “dreary toasts” about death in “an unequal battle with the Russian bear and General Moroz.”

At the same time, Medvedev was amazed that the European Union chose to step on the rake of “price regulation” again, forgetting that this usually ends with the disappearance of goods and rising prices.

“One thing is clear – there will be no good for the consumer, that’s for sure. So let them stock up on schnapps, wadded blankets and boilers. Still ahead, winter has just begun”– summed up Medvedev.

Oil Price Ceiling

Recall that the price ceiling for Russian black gold agreed upon by the G7 countries and Australia comes into force on December 5.

Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov emphasized that Moscow would not accept the restriction imposed by the Europeans and would conduct a prompt analysis of the situation.

The Kremlin also stated that by such an act the European Union “endangered” its energy security and would continue to live without Russian oil. According to Permanent Representative Mikhail Ulyanov, the Russian Federation has previously clearly indicated its position. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that our country would not act contrary to its interests, and those countries that would introduce a “price ceiling” would simply not sell oil.
