The Boeing 747 plane of Russian oligarch Alexei Isaikin was seized as part of the sanctions imposed on him due to Russia’s military attack on Ukraine.
The Boeing 747 aircraft, which was previously owned by the Russian businessman and millionaire of Cypriot nationality, Alexei Isaikin, has been sold and has been in Germany for a year. Bild writes about it.
The plane reportedly arrived at German Hahn Airport from Chicago on March 10 last year. The aircraft was arrested immediately after landing in connection with the sanctions restrictions imposed on the Russian Federation due to the outbreak of all-out war in Ukraine.
At the time, the Boeing 747 was owned by UK-registered Cargologicair, which is part of the Russian company Volga-Dnepr, owned by Russian oligarch Isaikin.
In the summer of the same year, Isaikin, under British sanctions, withdrew from the beneficiaries of all Russian and foreign structures of the Volga-Dnepr company. Cargologicair filed for bankruptcy and the plane was sold.
The authors of the publication note that the name of the new owner of the Boeing 747 has not been disclosed. It is known that he had to pay 1,200 euros a day to Hahn Airport just because he parked his plane.
Recall that on March 8, a US court allowed the arrest of the American-made Boeing 737-7JU aircraft belonging to the Russian oil company Rosneft on the grounds that it violated sanctions. According to journalists, the cost of the board is about $ 25 million.
In March last year, the An-124 Ruslan transport aircraft belonging to the Volga-Dnepr cargo airline was seized in Canada. As the plane flew out of China and arrived at Toronto airport with loads of COVID-19 tests, Canada joined the international sanctions against the Russian Federation.
In June 2022, another Russian plane was arrested in Sri Lanka. We are talking about the Airbus A330, owned by Aeroflot. This decision was taken by local authorities following a complaint by Irish Celestial Aviation Trading Limited.
