In Grodno, Belarus, special forces killed an armed foreigner who allegedly planned a terrorist attack. This was reported in the press service of the State Security Committee of the Republic of Belarus (KGB) on Sunday, March 19.
According to Belarusian security officials, the detention took place on Kurchatov Street. The foreigner put up armed resistance to the security forces – he opened fire on the fighters of the special forces of group “A” with a machine gun. It has also been reported to detonate real grenades. As a result, he was eliminated while the security forces did not suffer.
In a statement from the KGB, “Immediate investigation and operational search measures are being carried out together with the Ministry of the Interior, the CCP and other law enforcement agencies. No civilians or law enforcement officers were injured in the special operation.” Says Belarus.
According to eyewitnesses, the local telegraph channel “Courts, detentions. Grodno and the region” writes that about 10 security guards and a minibus were seen on Kurchatov Street. Local residents reported explosions and gunfire.
