Expert Ivan Kirichevsky suggested that Russian hypersonic missiles could be launched from Bastion or Object 100 complexes.
On March 25, Russian Armed Forces attacked Kiev with new Zircon type missiles. In a comment to Espresso on March 27, Defense Express military expert Ivan Kirichevsky explained how they might have been launched.
“We can only speculate about where the Russians launched Zircon based on the statements of Russian propagandists,” he said.
According to the expert, in 2022 the Russian Federation boasted about the uniqueness of Zircon missiles, which it wanted to adapt for launch from coastal launchers of the Bastion complex. These complexes are designed to launch Onyx type missiles.
Russia has also made no secret of its intention to adapt the Zircons to the underground shore-based missile system Object 100, also known as Utes. It was captured in Crimea in 2014 and used by the enemy for target practice.
“If we take into account today’s reports from the Southern Operations Command spokesman that the invaders have concentrated several dozen Zircon missiles in Crimea, they seem to have collected all the available Zircon missiles in Crimea,” Kirichevsky emphasized.
Let us remind you that Ukrainian Navy Spokesperson Dmitry Pletenchuk said that the army has started searching for Zircon missile launchers. He explained that their mobility made the task even more difficult.
On March 27, partisans of the Fire movement detected a small missile ship of the Karakurt project in the Sevastopol Bay. These corvettes carry three types of missiles, including Zircon.
