Closure of the metro in Kiev: compensation of more than 110 thousand hryvnias was paid to citizens – KSCA

Kiev residents will be compensated for transfers to ground transport and additional trips by metro. The money started to be refunded on December 18.

Kiev residents began to get back the money spent on additional trips by public transport due to the closure of metro stations. The press service of the Kiev City State Administration (KCSA) shared the details on December 19.

“In the first 24 hours, approximately 18.5 thousand trips were refunded to passengers who had to transfer to Lybidskaya metro station,” the management said.

Kiev residents were compensated for 9,729 trips by road on the blue line and 8,624 additional trips by metro.

“The total amount of compensation for the first day was more than 110 thousand hryvnias,” the press service said.

The Kyiv City State Administration added that the compensation system became operational on December 18. Kiev residents who had to make transfers due to the repair of the section between Demeevskaya and Lybidska stations will be refunded the money spent on additional trips.

Let us remind you that Ruslan Kandibor, director of the Transport Infrastructure Department of the Kyiv City State Administration, announced that the compensation is automatically refunded on the day the person transfers.

On December 17, Kiev residents noticed that shopping pavilions began to sag in the Demeevskaya station area. Social networks reported that the situation was getting worse.

On December 18, Kiev Metro deputy head Dmitry Pinchuk warned that another metro section in Kiev may be closed for repairs.
