The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on the parties to show maximum restraint, refrain from attacks against civilian targets, and protect the safety of civilians.
Following Russia’s major missile attacks on Ukraine, China called on “relevant parties” to show maximum restraint and resolve the “Ukrainian crisis” diplomatically, without changing its rhetoric about an all-out Russian invasion. This was stated in a statement by a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in response to a request from a Ukrinform correspondent in China for information on Beijing’s reaction to Russia’s massive missile attack on January 2.
The spokesman responded that China’s stance on the “Ukraine crisis” is consistent and clear.
“We continue to urge relevant parties to exercise maximum restraint, refrain from attacks on civilian objects and protect the safety of civilians,” the Chinese diplomatic service said.
China, which still does not openly call Russia’s aggression against Ukraine a war, is calling for negotiations.
“We hope that all parties will commit to finding a political solution to the crisis, ending the war early and making joint efforts to alleviate the situation,” the response said.
Moreover, the Chinese side still remains silent about the aggressor country’s violations of international humanitarian law, despite ample evidence of the destruction of housing as a result of Russian missile attacks. The PRC also never expressed condolences to injured civilians in Ukraine.
China, meanwhile, supplies the Russian Federation with modern computer numerical control (CNC) machines needed for Moscow’s military industry. Since the beginning of the large-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Armed Forces, the supply of CNC machines from China to Russia has increased tenfold. Such machines can quickly produce complex components from metal and other hard materials, making them valuable for defense manufacturing.
How The media had previously claimed that scientists from Russia and China were able to establish a communication line protected using quantum data encryption. They used security keys transmitted by the Chinese quantum satellite Mozi.
