On the morning of April 22, a Russian private plane landed in Berlin to pick up its diplomats. According to Russian media, the Russian Foreign Ministry plans to send more than 20 diplomats in return.
German authorities decided to expel Russian diplomats from the country. The private flight landed in Berlin on 22 April. DW reports.
Around 9 a.m., an Il-96-300 plane, which had previously received special diplomatic clearance for landing, landed in the German capital, the German Air Force told reporters. The aircraft with tail number RSD 898 took off from Berlin at around 12:00 and landed at Vnukovo Airport at 15:30.
RosSMI writes that a private plane landed Russian diplomats. The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the actions of the German government and promised a mirror response.
“We strongly condemn these actions of Berlin, which continue to defiantly destroy its entire array, including the diplomatic dimension of Russian-German relations,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
It was later learned that Russia had expelled more than 20 German diplomats. It is alleged that Berlin “takes into account” the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry regarding the negative assessment of such actions.
We add that in March the media wrote about the intention to expel more than 30 accredited Russian diplomats, but later Berlin denied this statement.
Recall, on April 20, the City Council terminated the lease agreement with the Russian Embassy. The lawmakers also called on the government to return the diplomatic institution to Ukrainian ownership.
On March 31, the media reported that a Russian spy detained in the Netherlands was collecting intelligence information about Israel.
